Aligned to the latest advances in Unreal Engine, leading 2D and 3D CG software applications, and built in collaboration with innovative technology partners and major Hollywood studios, Glassbox’s tools are crafted and battle-tested on the front line of cutting-edge virtual production techniques, to ensure the creation of complex virtual performances is as easy as live action filmmaking.
Founded in 2016 by industry veterans, combining expertise in VFX, Immersive, and real-time technologies. Glassbox is headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in Germany, Australia and Taiwan.
Norman Wang
CEO & Co-founder
Born in Taiwan, raised in Australia and now calling California home, Norman is a published computer vision author, former Ph.D researcher in the field of cognitive psychology, university lecturer, VR industry figure head and seasoned tech entrepreneur. Norman also loves to cook michelin-grade, international cuisines to keep the team at Glassbox well fed (although he won’t tell us how he came by these cooking skills). When he’s not doing that, he channels his passion and diverse skill set into growing successful tech businesses from the ground up. A passionate and knowledgeable advocate for interactive storytelling, Norman can often be found debating the merits of competing tech over an excellent, homemade shakshuka.
Mariana Acuña
Chief Product Officer & Co-founder
Originally from Mexico City, Mariana’s been at home in Los Angeles for just over a decade, entrenched on the front line of VFX post production. A technologist, VR & AR pioneer and entrepreneur, veteran pixel pusher, software creative and business development leader, and Variety magazine top 10 innovator. Mariana loves to surf and geek out, sometimes even at the same time, and when she’s not doing that she’s making software tools for Virtual Production to transform the way filmmaking is done today. A force to be reckoned with, Mariana is a champion for women working in technology, who’ll most likely be found charming an audience from the stage of a tech event near you.
Jannes Nagel
Technical Mastermind
Born and raised just outside of Hamburg, Germany, Jannes is a critical member of our German development team. Having worked as a professional developer since before he graduated high school, Jannes is a highly interdisciplinary engineer, cognitive scientist and has a wealth of experience in artificial intelligence, computer graphics, GPU computing, computer vision and real-time systems. In his spare time Jannes loves to pit his wits against the world’s most unforgiving ARPG’s, in preparation for the technical challenges we throw at him during the day (or that’s what we like to think). Most easily identified by his sweater choice, you’ll find Jannes holed up in our German outpost up to his elbows in code.

One of our experts will come on site with you for a minimum of 3 days, maximum of 5 days, to support your team in creating a facial rig.
